We’re Hiring…sort of

It’s been nine months since we’ve launched the Orangevale Food Bank, and it’s been an amazing blessing to serve our community. We have many wonderful volunteers to help make our Thursday distribution work very well. As we move into the holidays and our one year anniversary, we are looking to expand our team of leaders. OVFB is run entirely by volunteers who believe in the mission of feeding hungry Orangevale families. So we’re “hiring” a few key volunteer roles. Would you consider one of these roles?

Food Drive Coordinator

Each OV school has committed to adopt a month of the school year. This leader would be responsible for connecting with each school to communicate current needs, assist the school site leader with arranging their food drive, then arrange other students to deliver the collected food to OVFB.

Hours Per Month: 10-15

Community Reporter

Capture stories and photos from the food bank and Orangevale community. Manage 1-2 website/blog updates per month, and draft an article for OV View newspaper once each month.

Hours Per Month: 5-10

Garden Coordinator

Responsible for all handling or coordinating all activities for the food bank community garden. This includes scheduling volunteers to plant a fall and spring garden, ongoing watering and weeding, and picking fruit to provide to hungry Orangevale families through the food bank.

Hours Per Month: 10-15

Harvest Coordinator

This volunteer is responsible for marketing and coordinating the food bank’s Harvest Program. Schedule with local residents to bring a group of students to harvest fresh fruit from their trees, then deliver the fruit to the food bank to provide to hungry Orangevale families.

Hours Per Month: 15-20

If you’re interested in learning more about these leadership roles within the food bank, we’d love to meet for coffee to talk more. Please simply call or email Brad @ OVFB through the contact us page. We look forward to hearing from you!
