March 31: Impact Orangevale Event

We have an opportunity for an IMPACT ORANGEVALE event on Saturday, March 31st. Come join us from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm to help with any of the below projects. Register using the links below. We hope to tackle as many of the projects as possible, but we’ll determine what we can handle based upon how many volunteers are able to join us.

Interested in getting involved on March 31?

Tree Planting and Yard Cleanup
Orangevale Food Bank
Help us clean up the debris in our yard at the food bank to create more room for parking. We had 25 fruit trees donated by the Sacramento Tree Foundation which we’d like to dig holes for and plant. Once we get the area cleared, we can begin planting trees.

Fruit Harvesting
Harvest Sacramento
Join a new Orangevale group and pick fruit from community residents’ yards. Fruit will be collected and distributed to local food pantries, including Orangevale Food Bank. Volunteers will meet at Orangevale Food Bank and head out into the community from there.

Tree Planting Project
Ottoman Elementary School
Prepare soil and dig holes to plant 10-15 five gallon trees to create a new shaded space for children to play. Meet at Orangevale Food Bank and head over to Ottoman from there.

Building Project – Replace Roof
Orangevale Food Bank
Help create more storage space by removing a leaky roof and installing new roofing materials on a 20’x20’ space. Skilled labor will be required to complete this project.
This is a major project and will require coordination prior to March 31.

Food Drive for OV Food Bank
Three hour shifts from 9am – 6pm. Volunteers will hand out flyers and collect donated food at the two store entrances.

Thanks! And we hope you and your family can join us on the 31st. More details will follow next week, but plan to meet at 6483 Main Ave at 8:30 am on March 31st if you would like to participate.
