Orangevale Food Bank hosted an engaging evening event filled with music, art
and food at the Orangevale Grange Hall.
The banquet included dinner catered by Haole Pig, artwork from many local
artists, raffle and silent auction items. Entertainment included live music by
the Rhythm Club Lite as well as an artist, Peggy Talburt, painting “live onstage.”
Special visitors at the community event were County Supervisor Sue Frost,
Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, members of the Fair Oaks and Orangevale
Chamber of Commerce, Sierra Rainwater, Miss Orangevale and Zoey
DeGarmo, Wee Miss Orangevale. Cody Alan from KNCI kept the crowd
entertained as the evening’s MC.
A presentation was made by Brad Squires, founder of the food bank, on the
past, present and future development of the food bank. He expressed a
desire for interested parties to become members of the Board of Directors
to help guide the future of the food bank. Tom Carden, director, and Keith
Wright, assistant director, summarized the completed projects of the year
and needs for future projects.
The evening concluded with the winners of the auction items and raffle
winners announced. Good conversations continued between many attendees
on ways to help better serve their community and its members.
Sponsors of the event included Oakmont of Fair Oaks, Orangevale View,
Orangevale Grange, and American West Conservation.
All proceeds went to benefit the Orangevale Food Bank in its goal to be
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”
